The West Church is a modern church building in the Faroese capital of Tórshavn. It belongs to the Lutheran Faroese People's Church. At 40.9 meters, it is also the tallest building in the country. The West Church was consecrated in 1975. Its architecture is considered to be particularly pure and simple. It rises above the city like a landmark, and its shape appears to be inspired by a ship with sails. The tower is shaped like a vertically bisected, pointed pyramid.
