Beach is officially closed (as of Oct 2023) due to broken stairs. However if you have good shoes and some hiking experience it is possible to get down using ropes. Trekking poles recommended. Dont go there in sandals or flip-flops. Not suitable for children.

Platia Ammos Beach on the Paliki peninsula is one of the most spectacular, but also most difficult to access places on Kefalonia.
Current status (2024-2026)
The beach is officially closed for land access. A severe earthquake and heavy rainfall in 2014 have largely destroyed the former approximately 300 to 400 stone steps that led down the cliffs.
Although some adventurers try to climb down via unstable paths and secured ropes, this is expressly not recommended due to the risk of falling rocks and extremely steep terrain. The steps often end abruptly in nothing.
