Church of San Rocco, Venice
The Chiesa di San Rocco is a Roman Catholic church in Venice, northern Italy. It is located at Campo dei Frari in the Sestiere of San Polo, not far from the Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. The church was consecrated in 1508. Architects involved were: Bartolomeo Bon, Bernardino Maccaruzzi, Pietro Bon and Giovanni Antonio Scalfarotto. The building was built in the Renaissance style; construction began in 1489 and was not finally completed until 1771. The facade was built between 1765 and 1771 and was designed by Bernardino Maccarucci. The church is one of the plague churches built in Venice. The relics of Saint Roch are, among other things, here in this church.
