In 980, the abbey was entrusted to the first abbot Giovanni (later San Giovanni Primo abbot), canon of the chapter of the cathedral of Parma, by Bishop Sigefredo II. This place has been inhabited and guarded by Benedictine monks since the 10th century.
The church is open every day from 08:30 - 12:00 / 16:00 - 19:30
