In the nature area Ravenvennen, southeast of Lomm, lies the Witte mountain. He is the highest vantage point in the vicinity.
De Witte Berg is a beautiful specimen of an old river dune for which this part of the Maasduinen is famous. A dune grows over time, so that the wind can not stir up the sand anymore. However, rare plants such as the lichen and animals, such as the sand bee and the lizard, depend on a sandy location. The management of De Witte Berg therefore aims to maintain the open nature of the dune. Through the swirling sand, the trees take on bizarre forms.
Before Witte Berg had grown, 16 church towers could be seen from the top. Even today, the view from Witte Berg is fantastic. From here you can see different types of bogs.
