We started the hike to the Rappenseehütte from the Fellhornbahn car park. The first part is along the road, but if you want, you can also take the bus for this part. The trail continues on a wide hiking trail to Einödsbach, after which the hiking trail becomes a single trail. After about half the route (but still not half the altitude) you can take a break at the Petersalpe. From then on it is very steep, climbing a few hundred metres up to the Enzianhütte and from there it continues quite a bit more flatly. Shortly before the Rappenseehütte, however, it gets steep again.

When wet, the ground is slippery in some places, so shoes with good grip are essential. Otherwise, no special equipment is required and the tour is easy for trained hikers.
