The western part of the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve runs along the banks of the High Elbe between Tesperhude and Lauenburg. Forested, steep Elbe slopes with many cuts and notched valleys characterize the landscape and offer wonderful views of the great river from the beautiful hiking and cycling paths.
