Really nice bike path, fine gravel path on the dam along the Elbe side canal.
Great view of the busy (large number of ships) canal and the beautiful
Meadows and fields.

A relaxed ride, but not much of a view, but of course no shade on the canal. Ideally use puncture-proof tires, as some of the gravel is sharp-edged.

A two-sided cycle path made of a water-bound cover runs along the Elbe side canal.
The Elbe Lateral Canal branches off from the apex of the Mittelland Canal between Braunschweig and Wolfsburg near the town of Edesbüttel and continues in a northerly direction through the Gifhorn district. Over the Allertal through the Lüneburg Heath and flows into the Elbe near Artlenburg.
