Pretty little town in the canton of Jura, close to France. It deserves a visit for its heritage, in particular its castle. Recommended step during a trip.

Pruntrut Castle (French: Château de Porrentruy) is a castle complex above the town of Pruntrut in the Swiss canton of Jura. The hilltop castle originally dates back to the 13th century and was built by the Counts of Montbéliard. The Réfus Tower next to the castle building was probably built around 1271. From 1524 to 1792 it served as the residence of the prince-bishops of Basel. Structurally, the castle is in the same condition as it was at that time. It has been the seat of the judicial authorities of the canton of Jura since 1979. The facility can be visited on weekdays.
