In a one-hour tour, you will be boated along the ramparts and the boat captain will tell you historical and current information about the Stade harbors and the former fortifications from the Swedish era.
You will pass under the Hanseatic Bridge, along the Museum Island and further past the Königsmarck Bastion, the Erleninsel and the former Schiffertor. The tour continues along the Stadeum and the youth hostel to the city villas on Parkstrasse. From there, the tour slowly leads back to the starting point.

The diverse new uses of the ramparts after the fortress was abandoned are what define their diverse character today. Each era has left its mark. It's remarkable that, despite all the changes, the Swedish fortification system is still clearly recognizable. This look back concludes with the motto for the future: "Fortress becomes park," thus creating a space for leisure and recreation on grounds of historical significance for the city.
