The wide reed belt in the northeastern border area of the Bichelweihermoos is a resting and breeding ground for several rare bird species.
The adjacent mill, built by the Fugger family, dates back to the 17th century. The settlement of Büchel itself was first documented in 1330 and is named after the small adjacent hill with its beech forest.
