The town hall was built in the years 1830-1841 on the site of a building from the second half of the 18th century. The 19th century town hall had a courtyard on the east, surrounded by a high brick wall. A fire station was built within this courtyard, which was later demolished, and the city treasury belonging to the town hall was built in this place. The building survived World War II without damage, and was later renovated several times and today is a nice showcase of the city.
