The construction of the church dates back to around 1400. The church was destroyed several times during wars and then rebuilt. However, there are no documents about the scale of the destruction. It is known that in 1777 the windows were repaired, in 1796 the tower dome and the roof over the presbytery were repaired, and in 1809 the roof and vaults were repaired. It was not until 1882 that the church underwent a thorough renovation, which was to restore its original, Gothic shape. In this form it has survived to this day. Post-war renovations were only temporary and did not change its appearance.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary - the slender tower of the church can be seen from almost every point of the city - it is the oldest and largest monument of Resko. The church in Resko was built at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, and the first mention of it in documents comes from 1427. The Gothic temple is of the hall type, which means that it has three naves of equal height. In the 16th century, two chapels were added on both sides of the tower, and in 1882 the church underwent a thorough reconstruction, which was led by Kruhl, an architect from Szczecin. The reconstruction gave the church its present appearance. At that time, the tower reached a height of 67 m. In the 18th century, Baroque organs were placed.
