A 23-hectare island in Brittany's Côtes-d'Armor that has been continuously inhabited for over 7,000 years, from Neolithic times through the 20th century. The island features a remarkably preserved 5,000-year-old covered alley (megalithic tomb) and was once owned by the mistress of a Parisian press magnate who hosted French statesman Aristide Briand there between 1919 and 1933. Since 1984, the island has been managed by France's coastal conservancy and is accessible on foot during low tide via a 100-meter causeway.
