The Evangelical-Lutheran parish church of St. Stephen in the Breitenau district of Feuchtwanger is a hall church, the core of which dates from the 14th century.
The chancel and tower of the church were rebuilt at the end of the 15th century. The nave was extended at the beginning of the 18th century. The cemetery, which is still common in many villages today, is right next to the church and is surrounded by a wall. The church is located on the site of the former Breitenau Castle. In the garden of the church you can still see the place where the castle used to stand.
