A "mystical place in the wilderness."

The hiking trail leads there and past it, and it is also accessible.

The elevated water tank built in 1911 on a hill between the Susannenhaus and the farmyard is a reminder of the sanatorium's historical supply.

The Edmundsthal-Siemerswalde lung sanatorium, opened in 1899 and expanded until 1912 according to designs by the architects Haller and Geissler, also provided an economic boost to Geesthacht. A steam engine with a generator (and water pump) installed there supplied electricity not only to the hospital but also to wealthy residents of the neighborhood. The sanatorium also operated a central heating system and its own drinking water supply.

The systems were designed by the engineering firm Hennicke & Goos, which was involved in the construction of the town hall and the music hall in Hamburg, among other projects. The elevated water tank erected on a hill between the Susannenhaus (built in 1912) and the farmyard (next to the Theklahaus from 1899) in 1911 commemorates the historic supply of the sanatorium. Since 1914, it has been crowned by a steel lattice observation tower, which is no longer accessible.
