The place has a beautiful historic center. The guild signs on many houses are particularly interesting. The sacred buildings are also interesting. The glory of Göden used to be very tolerant, so that five different denominations used to coexist there. The old buildings are still a reminder of this time today, even if only the Lutheran and Roman Catholic churches are still in operation. Numerous information boards explain the history of the place and there is a small museum.

The small historic town is very well maintained and maintained. A peculiarity is that under the liberal rule of the House of Wedel to Gödens five religious communities existed peacefully together, when this was not yet taken for granted. The buildings are still visible, partly still in use, partly as a museum or café. At many houses of the place the Gildeschilder can still be seen.
