Market Square Fountain ⛲ - MemmingenThe market fountain has a long history in Memmingen. When the imperial city was founded, the square already had its own fountain. In 1566, a larger stone fountain was built for the first time, which was completely renovated in 1688. It was removed in 1847. Since the market square seemed empty without a fountain, a fountain was built again in 1870 with a marble bowl and the figure of a boy riding on a swan. This fountain was surrounded by small trees. However, the fountain was removed again just two years later. In 1994, the Memmingen-based company Magnet-Schultz donated a new neo-baroque market fountain to the city.Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sehensw%C3%BCrdigkeiten_in_Memmingen
