With intimate corners, extensive lawns, large terraces and green forests, Bodnant is many gardens in one.
This oasis of rarity and beauty has been created over 150 years, with plants brought to Britain from far and wide, and with the incredible vision of generations of the McLaren family and Puddle Head gardeners. It is a delight for the senses and also has the breathtaking backdrop of the Carneddau Mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia).
There is color all year round. The garden can be whatever you want it to be: whether it's a hive of activity or an oasis of peace and relaxation, this is a truly special place for all ages.
Booking a visit in advance is only necessary for visits between 20/5 and 9/6, the heyday of the Golden Rain.

Bodnant Garden is a great destination for garden lovers. The magnificent grounds include five terraces, a lily pond and beautiful herbaceous borders.
The gardens were created by Henry Pochin, an industrial chemist, in the late 1800s when he employed a well-known designer called Milner, who had been apprenticed to Joseph Paxton.
Over the next 50 years, many plants were acquired by famous plant hunters.
The garden is interesting all year round and invites long walks.

We are botanical amateurs, but we visit such gardens in many places. The Bodnant Garden is a real highlight for anyone who likes trees! The garden is largely designed so that you walk through a forest full of old, beautiful trees and discover beauty everywhere. We were in there for a good three hours, which wasn't enough. The items in the shop are also recommended.
We really enjoyed our time in the garden and were extremely excited!
Bus number 25 drives to the entrance, it couldn't be more convenient.
