The house and hospice of the Kamper Hof were mentioned in a document in 1295, although it can be concluded that they were built shortly after 1235, after Kamp Abbey acquired the right to incorporate the St. Peter Church. Over the years, the Kamper Hof was used as a school, Kolping House and quarters for the Dutch governors during the 80 Years' War.
In 1987, the former chapel was included in the list of monuments of the city of Rheinberg. In 2012 the Kamper Hof was lovingly restored and converted into a modern event and congress center.
