The Cable Hut is located just above the sandy beach of Porthcurno. In this modest building, built in 1929, telegraph cables from all corners of the world came ashore. The Cable Hut is the only one of its kind, complete with the original equipment and contains the largest collection of historic telegraph cables and connection arcs in the world. Visitors can still see the original cables emerging from under the floor and connecting to a series of terminals.
Due to the extremely delicate nature of the equipment in the Cable Hut, it is not open in bad weather.
