The Hofgut Guntershausen consists of an ensemble of buildings with a centuries-old history that can be traced back to the end of the 16th century. They are evidence of a history of life on the river, which not only shaped the surrounding nature with its determining power, but also shaped the everyday life, the settlement forms and the economic methods of the people living on its bank regions. The buildings of the estate bear witness to this with their imposing sandstone walls, storerooms and stables, which represent the former wealth of an Auhaus on the Rhine. The farm was and is involved in the entire regional development in economic, technical, social and cultural terms.

The Förderverein Hofgut Guntershausen e. V. is in charge of the Stockstadt am Rhein community museum in the former administrator's house of the Guntershausen estate. In addition to changing special exhibitions, a permanent exhibition on the history of the Guntershausen estate is shown there, and topics from the local history of Stockstadt and the region around the Kühkopf are also taken up.

Furthermore, there is an art gallery on the upper floor of the administrator's house, run by the association, in which changing art exhibitions can be seen, which are designed by artists from the region.

The registry office of the municipality of Stockstadt am Rhein and the Förderverein Hofgut Guntershausen e. V. offer those willing to marry in the special ambience of the former horse stables on the Guntershausen estate.

The first considerations regarding the use of the listed Hofgut Gunternhausen arose in 1983 after agriculture was given up and the goal shifted in favor of nature conservation. After the idea of an academy for nature conservation was rejected due to the poor condition of the building, it is thanks to the population of Stockstadt that the former administration building, the intermediate wing and the south wing were used due to the transfer of ownership to the Förderverein Hofgut Guntershausen e.V Part could be preserved with the support of the monument protection and through state funds. However, the north wing remained state property and stood empty for a long time. Since 2014, the environmental education center "Schatzinsel Kühkopf" has been located there with three permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, seminar rooms, workshops and the adjoining administration wing.
