In old Stockstadt there were three grinding mills, a fulling mill and an oil mill, and in between there were also a few gypsum mills.
The first grinding mill, today's Dölzermühle (Schulstraße 46), was first mentioned in 1383. It belonged to the County of Hanau and was administered from the official seat of Babenhausen.
Not only the farmers from Großostheim had to have theirs ground in the mill, but also those from Schaafheim and Harreshausen (hence the name “Fernmühle”). The direct connection through the forest from Schaafheim to Stockstadt was therefore called the “Müllerweg”. In 1493 the Electors of Mainz also built two mills next to the customs house on the Gersprenz. The almost complete enumeration of the millers of the Debormühle is possible from around 1620. Around 1734 the name Debour (Debor) appears for the first time as Fernmüller. In 1927 Stefan Dölzer bought the mill.
