An guten Tagen strahlen Straßen und Wege nur für uns und grauer Beton wird plötzlich bunt.
It had to be again today.
The seasons change, but the routes stay the same. You have the feeling of coming home somehow. Although I've been to this wooded area several times, I still enjoy the landscape.
After a varied working day 👨💻 this is exactly the right thing to slow down.

Today I didn't run a lap in the great weather because I just wanted to enjoy the sun.
My hike took me past the Hüttenberger Chapel.
The chapel is a small mountain chapel. The chapel stands in the Kahlgrund on an open field between the Mensengesäß and Oberschur on the southeast slope of the Herrenberg (343 m) at about 300 m.
On the ridge you have a great all-round view.
The path is lined with many apple and pear trees, for which the Kahlgrund is well known. In Michelbach, the gateway to the Kahlgrund, a great wine grows in the Apostelgarten and in Niedersteinbach, Arno Dirker distills the right high-proof liquor from the fruit of the Steuobstwiesen.
Once a year: then the Kahlgrund burns too.

Bavarian Nice and gateway to the Spessart - that is Aschaffenburg.
In the 19th century it was the summer residence of the Bavarian King Ludwig I and still today, not only the towers of Johannisburg Castle, which can be seen from afar, attract numerous people to the city on the Main. The mild climate, lush greenery, art, culture and teaching contribute to the popularity of Aschaffenburg.
Of course, Schönbusch also pays for the other sights. Schönbusch Park is one of the earliest landscape gardens in southern Germany. The Archbishop of Mainz and Elector Friedrich Carl von Erthal had the former electoral game reserve converted into a park from 1775.
On the park area there is a great beer garden, the CULINARY SCHÖNBUSCH, with its Bavarian specialties. The Nilkheimer Park is located next to the Schönbusch Park, only separated by a street.
The KOMMZ music festival has been taking place in this park since 1975. A musical highlight in the Bavarian Lower Main.

I know the Wiesbüttlauf from the LT Freigericht. This path leads from Wiesbütt over 19.2 km of forest paths along the Birkenhainer at Karl Kihn Platz over hilly terrain over the horseshoe back to the festival area in Horbach.Today I chose a completely different route to Karl Kihn Platz.
At the beginning of the hike from the Kahlquelle, the gravel forest path goes a little uphill, once you have made this ascent, then you hike comfortably on forest paths or paths through the beautiful Spessart. The Spessart is a typical deciduous forest with its many beeches and oaks.
At the end of the tour you will pass the Bamberger Mühle restaurant.
The mill wheel in this mill still works today. In earlier times there were a number of sawmills, grain and oil mills along the Kahl.In the restaurant, freshly caught trout and delicious game dishes are on the menu.By the way, Dr. Karl Kihn was a German doctor and historian and local researcher. He is considered one of the pioneers in the development of the Spessart. Karl Kihn merged several hiking clubs to form today's Spessart Association.

Today's tour started at the parking lot of the Forsthaus Klaushof. Aschach Castle can be reached in a relaxed manner via a feeder to the Hochrhöner. There you can fortify yourself in a charming cafe (restaurant) in the courtyard of the castle.
The Franconian Saale then lines the way back. At the level of the water cascades, you leave the Saale valley and go back up to the forester's house. This forest path nestles along a small brook.
The water ripples leisurely over the many cascades, and this almost 1-2 km up to the forester's house.
The beer garden or the restaurant of the forester's house invites young and old to linger for a short or long time.
