Hospital Church of the Holy Spirit, Wangen
In the middle of the old town it stands as a baroque gem and has shone in new splendor since its extensive renovation by the parish in 2008/10. The miraculous image of the “Prisoner Jesus” is hidden in the church. The first medieval chapel attached to the hospital was consecrated in 1447. Expanded and redesigned in Baroque style in 1719, it was not at all designed for a pilgrimage. With the inclusion of the figure of “Prisoner Jesus” in 1744 and the answered prayers that began soon afterwards, a very lively pilgrimage arose. In addition, the lavishly furnished church shows a crescent moon Madonna in the high altar by the carver Hans Zürn the Younger. and two side altars dedicated to St. Elogius and St. Anna respectively. In addition to the many saints depicted, the ceiling painting by Gebhard Fugel (1912) and the pictures on the gallery parapets are also dedicated to the basic theme of healing. Ex-Voto images provide an example of the faith of countless people who continue to visit the church with their concerns to this day.

The Spitalkirche is a beautiful, small baroque building in the old town.
I found the Trinity Altar with Jesus at the Column of Flagellation to be exceptional.
