The municipality built the market fountain (Röhrenbrunnen) in 1829. It stood right next to the town hall, which was probably on today's market square. One source reports that this predecessor of the Röhrenbrunnen was knocked over by carters in 1737 and had to be put back up. In 1742, the fountain was re-clad by the stonemason Martin Müller from Franconia and new masonry work was also carried out. (Source: Regionalgeschichte.net)
