The huge project to rebuild the Emscher from a sewer back to a natural river is now known beyond the borders of the Ruhr area. In the eastern Ruhr area, however, there is a second, fairly large water system, the Seseke, which also served as a "Köttelbecke" and was canalized. Decades later, the Seseke program was developed, which envisaged the natural redesign of the river. On the Seseke Trail, you can experience the change by bike and follow the river (almost) from the source to the mouth of the Lippe.
