Rock climbing

The Dohlenfelsen (Dohlen Rock) is widely known as a popular climbing rock. It is located within the Oberlandsteig climbing area near Konstein in the Urdonautal Valley. The rock was exposed on both sides by the Urdonau River and therefore juts out into the valley almost like the prow of a ship. The approximately 70-meter-high rock is part of a fossilized sponge reef – fossilized sponges and shell fragments are frequently encountered while climbing.
