Tips
The Praia da “Marcha Atrás” is wide, fine sand and (of course) empty at this time of year. Exactly opposite is the Forte da Ínsua (belongs to Portugal). The fortress was built between 1649 and 1652 after the island's monastery was plundered by pirates several times.
