The grammar school on Moltkeplatz, colloquially referred to as the "Moltke", in the Cracau district of Krefeld was founded in 1819 and is a municipal grammar school for boys and girls.

Since 1915, the grammar school has been located in a symmetrical old building in the style of moderate classicism, which offers enough space due to the architecture and is one of the most interesting buildings in the city. The building was designed by August Biebricher. The allegorical statues above the portal were created by the sculptor Peter Stammen. During the Second World War, on the night of October 2, 1942, the east wing of the school building was badly damaged. Today the building is a listed building.
