Only the cellar walls remain of the actual Neuenhofen house, a manor house from the 13th century, situated on a "moth" and surrounded by a moat. Today's building with the round tower was not built until around 1825 to 1830, after the silk industrialist and Krefeld mayor Gottschalk Floh had acquired the property and the associated lands
