The site and remains of a former Italian cemetery from the Great War: one of the many improvised battlefield cemeteries to bury the fallen. After the conflict, around 1920, concurrent with land reclamation work, a monumental and painful process began: exhuming the bodies (or scattered remains!) from the cemeteries and tombs scattered along the 400km of the Italian front, to gather them in the solemn military memorials built to honor the fallen and celebrate their sacrifice for the homeland.
