A beautiful and intact example of a 'Venetian sawmill': outside the building there is the hydraulic wheel set in motion by the action of the water and the canalization works; inside the gears for the sawing process are still perfectly functional.Owned by the Miola family since 1862, but already existing since the end of 1700, the sawmill remained in operation until 1969. The name Venetian is due to the fact that this type of system for cutting boards from logs was adopted by the Republic of Venice based on Leonardo da Vinci's model. The sawmill is open to the public and put into operation one Sunday morning a month, from April to October (call the ProLoco of Valli for information): seeing the mechanical contraption operated only by the force of the river, via levers and ropes, is hypnotic and arouses wonder and admiration for human ingenuity!
