The oldest mill Döbelns has its first mention in 1420. After a fire in 1800, the mill is rebuilt as a mill, saw and oil mill. In 976 the company was discontinued. At the house there is a flood board, which used to be at the gatehouse, but which was demolished. After the reunification, the mill was used for electric energy extraction.

The Staupitzmühle is probably the oldest mill in Döbeln and was already mentioned in a document in 1420. Driven by water since time immemorial, it generated electricity for the mill lighting, among other things, and remained in the city after the Second World War as one of two systems. Even after it "slept like a slumber" in 1976, it was not dismantled, so that the hydroelectric power plant of yesteryear once again attracts many interested citizens and visitors to the city of Döbeln to visit it.
