    The museum is named after the famous Uruguayan painter Joaquín Torres García. The works of this artist are exhibited in it, who mainly created abstract and cubist pictures, but his works also include portraits of Beethoven and Mozart, for example. It was founded in 1988 by the Fundación Torres Garcia and has around 80,000 visitors a year.
