The water feature is a work of art by the renowned artist Timm Ulrichs. It deals with a typical everyday topic: the daily washing up, which even today dishwashers don't always do. Dishes and cups are made of aluminum. There is a lot of discussion in Bad Nenndorf about the work of art, which was erected in 2016.

As Moonbeam correctly describes, the original fountain on the Nenndorf promenade between the newly restored Kurhaus and Haus Kassel is officially called “The Big Dishwasher” and was ceremoniously opened in late summer 2016 in the presence of Timm Ulrichs and representatives of Nenndorf local politics. We were there and repaired and handed out bicycles for refugees and people in need in the old Kurhaus. Today there is a busy restaurant in the rooms. Unfortunately, there is still no information board in front of the fountain that points to the artist. Perhaps it will come to the State Garden Show in 2026 at the latest. Before the opening event, this work of art was controversially discussed in local politics. There were other applications for the location, such as a suggestion from Schaumburg artist Peter Lechelt, who runs his studio in Kreuzriehe on the federal highway. His suggestion was ignored. One of his many sandstone sculptures is located in the green area in Hanover-Linden between Rampenstrasse and Fössestrasse. In 2016, when the Kurhaus was almost empty for the upcoming restoration work, Peter Lechelt was temporarily present in one of the front shops with his art objects. His traces could also be discovered in front of the Sigwards Church in Idensen. In personal conversations on site, he stated that he had also had contact with the Hanoverian artist Siegfried Neuenhausen during his career. In Hanover's Bertramstr. His studio is located in the building of the old Hainhölzer grain distillery. Opposite the wall to the lubricating gel factory you can see various works of art by well-known artists, including one by Ulrichs and Neuenhausen.
