Hiking

This building is already known from before 1478 (in the first country books). In the 18th century it was a 'maison de plaisance', a country residence, of a noble Winckelman family from Bruges. Afterwards it became the property of the de Pruyssenaere family. Later it really became a playhouse and/or brothel for a while. In 1886 the house was converted into a farm. That it must have been a beautiful farm in the 20th century shows us the yard on the south side: the bed of ramparts and canals is unmistakable.
