The Roßmühle is a 3-storey brick tower windmill with a flat conical roof. The thickness of the tower wall is amazing, measuring 2.60 m in the lower area and 1.40 m on the upper floor. The different brick shapes and colors as well as the construction joints and wall cracks suggest numerous structural changes. Inside, the old wooden ceilings are still there. A modern residential building has been built in place of the mill tunnel.
The almost cylindrical, only minimally conical shape indicates a very old construction, because conical windmills only began to be built at the beginning of the 18th century. The number "1618" is carved into stone on the top floor of the tower. A handwritten note from the 19th century even mentions 1535 as the year of construction. It can therefore not be ruled out that the remains of a medieval defense tower are hidden in the mill body. Up until around 1920, the mill still had wings. After that it was operated with electric drive until 1981. In 1987 it was converted to residential use. Due to the probably very old age of the mill and the design, it has a special meaning among the windmills of the city.
