The Chimenea de la fundición de plomo "Los Guindos", also known as the Torre Mónica, is an industrial chimney. This chimney was part of the installations of the fundición de plomo de Los Guindos, which was built in 1923 on the Playa de San Andrés for the metallurgy of lead from the Los Guindos mine in La Carolina. The chimney is 106 metres high and its function was to transport the toxic gases from the factory to higher parts of the atmosphere. The factory was closed in 1979, but the chimney remains as a symbol of industry in Málaga.

The Chimenea de Los Guindos, also known as Torre Mónica, is a significant relic of Málaga's industrial past. It was built in 1923 as part of the Fundición de Plomo Los Guindos, a lead smelting plant that operated from 1924 to 1979. Its primary function was to disperse toxic gases from the smelting process high into the atmosphere. Today, it stands as a symbol of the region's 20th-century economic development and industrial heritage, being one of the few remaining structures from Málaga's second industrial wave.

Are there any specific walking routes or trails directly associated with the Chimenea de Los Guindos?

While there isn't a specific 'trail' to the chimney itself, it is prominently located on the Paseo Marítimo de Poniente.
