In the old bower of Eschwege Monastery, there's a tin figure museum spread over several floors. It focuses specifically on Eschwege's town history, but also features many other dioramas filled with lovingly crafted tin figures. Tin figures are often designed as soldiers, but the museum beautifully displays many more creations! Plan on about two hours for a relaxing visit.

The bower in Eschwege is the only surviving building from the Middle Ages that is not used for religious purposes. Equipped with a fireplace or stove, it once served as a stone residential tower (in "Kemenate" is the Latin term "caminata" for fireplace, stove, hearth). The living room was above a vaulted cellar. Since 2002, the tin figure cabinet has invited visitors to the bower and the adjacent half-timbered building and offers a journey through 5000 years of world history.
