The Burgstall got its name from the people of Türkheim, it is a ledge with a great view of Bad Überkingen, the Filstal valley and the Jungfrauenfelsen.

No castle ruins, even if the name promises so

Very nice vantage point over Bad Überkingen.

The almost square castle site (28 x 33 meters) is located on the edge of the valley on an exposed rocky outcrop on cliffs that slope steeply to the northeast and northwest, and stands out only slightly from the surrounding area in a southeasterly direction towards the village. To the southeast and northeast, a rectangular wall remains approx. 70 cm high encloses the former castle area. In front of it, a still shallow hollow moat can be seen. There are no traces of any building remains in the castle courtyard.
This is a small walled tower castle that was built shortly after 1100. The southeast and northeast flanks of the castle complex were probably protected by a towering, rectangular shield wall with a moat in front of it facing the village.
It is likely that only a subordinate servant of the lord of the castle lived here in this modest castle on the edge of the village.
After 1200, the castle was abandoned as a residence and began to decay.
