LVR Open-Air Museum Lindlar

The LVR open-air museum in Lindlar is one of the two open-air museums of the Rhineland Regional Council. Opened in 1998, it is one of the youngest and most modern facilities of this type of museum in Germany. On an area of around 30 hectares, everyday rural life in the Bergisches Land over the last few centuries is documented.
Historical show farming is operated on the museum grounds and a wide range of regional and endangered livestock breeds are kept. In addition to the workhorses of the Rhenish-German cold blood type, red mountain cattle, Bentheim country pigs, white German noble goats, Diepholz gooses, Bergischer crows and many other animals can also be viewed.
