Since 2006, the building had no longer been used as a reception building, only the passage to the platform from the Platz des 17. Juni led through the building.
In 2014, a severe fire severely damaged the roof structure and the ceiling of the floor below.
In early 2020, the building was resold. The new owner, who plans a conversion into an apartment building, began gutting the building in November 2024.
