The Devin peninsula is a nature reserve and is located southeast of Stralsund and belongs to the village of Devin.
In the past, the area was used for military purposes and today many locals and tourists enjoy the remarkable landscape and great views. The landscape has its own "gardeners". Many sheep graze here and thus preserve the special forest-free moraine landscape with small bodies of water, moors and grasslands.
There is a parking lot at the “entrance” to the peninsula. A beautiful circular hiking trail leads around the island and you walk between the sheep.

Beautiful circular route, very well attended when the weather is nice.
If it is a little overcast and not too warm, you will meet few other strollers.

Dogs are allowed in the nature reserve, but you must be on a leash all year round - but that's okay, because it is a retreat for wild animals and grazing animals also run around freely here (as the whole area is fenced in and can only be entered through two gates / gates) .
The way to the free parking lot is horrible, but the Devin peninsula is worth exploring :)
