The St. Nicholas Chapel, also known as St. Nicholas Church, was first documented in 1366 and stands on the site of a former Mithras sanctuary from Roman times. The chapel was built in the late medieval style and still contains Romanesque elements. After a long period of decay, it was restored in the 1950s and has since been a place of worship once again.

The Nikolauskirche in the Gimmeldingen district of the Palatinate town of Neustadt an der Weinstraße (Rhineland-Palatinate), popularly known as the Nikolauskapelle, is a Catholic church. It is under the patronage of Nikolaus von Myra and is assigned as a branch church to the Catholic parish of St. Johannes Mußbach. The church stands on the site of a Roman-era Mithraic sanctuary.
