The beautiful house is a half-timbered house that has been preserved true to the original. It is located among the many ice cream parlors on Brovejen near Den Gamle Lillebæltsbro in Middelfart. The house is now owned by the Municipality of Middelfart.

Hjulmandshuset was built in 1820 and has been home to various families over the years. A family with 13 children once lived in the small house of 40 square meters.

Since 2013, the association Fynske Kunstnere, which consists of 92 members, has had the opportunity to lend the building to the gallery. The active members of the Kunstverein can then book the house in shifts for a week over the summer, exhibit there and talk about their art.

Open every weekend in summer, Saturday / Sunday at 11 am - 4 pm. Free access. Changes in opening hours are published on the website visitmiddelfart.dk.
