Very nice climb from the Edelrauthütte. Unfortunately we couldn't see much because of the fog

Experience in climbing and ascending is a great advantage here. Things get really tough just before the top.

Cima Cadini (Napfspitz) is the highest elevation of the Grubbach ridge, in the Fundres Mountains.

It rises on the branch that from the main chain of the Aurine Alps descends towards the Ponte di Ghiaccio Pass. Although it has no mountaineering value, it is an excellent destination from the nearby refuge. The first ascent is attributed to local shepherds. Only at the beginning of the 20th century did the Edelraute section of the D.Oe.A.V. create the current path (no. 6) that leads to the summit by climbing a steep side of debris.

From the Ponte di Ghiaccio Refuge (Edelrauthütte) you climb southwards to the base of the north ridge. Keeping first on the lake side (some metal cables, easy), you reach a forepeak. Along the ridge of blocks, leaving the smaller Cima della Pipa on the left (also reachable in a short time), with an easy and fun climb on blocks you climb to the summit cross. From here the view of the Zillertal Alps ridge is spectacular; among all the imposing Gran Pilastro (Hochfeiler), with its 3,510 m, the Punta Bianca (Hoher Weisszint) and the vast glacial basin enclosed between the Cima di Campo and the Mesule.
