The Neves Reservoir is located in the Zillertal Alps at the upper end of the valley of the Mühlwalder valley near Lappach. It is surrounded by the mountains Hoher Weisszint, Großer Möseler and Turnerkamp.

well-known mountain peaks such as the Hohe Weisszint (3.371 m), the Großer Möseler (3.479) and the Thurnerkamp (3.418 m) tower north of the Neves Reservoir majestically into the sky. At the foot of the rock giants runs the famous Neves High Trail, which offers a wonderful view of the lake and the glaciers.

The area around the Neves reservoir is ideal for hikers and mountaineers. To Eisbruggjochhütte, which is also called Edelrauthütte, you can reach from here in about 2 hours, to Chemnitzerhütte in 1.5. For the Weißzint you have to count about 5 hours, on the Möseler there are 6 and the Thurnerkamp a bit longer, the latter is the most challenging of the three mountains in terms of climbing.
