The mountain cemetery of Osthofen on the Kirchberg is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Rheinhessen. Due to its exposed location on the Goldberg plateau, you have an impressive view. The historic mountain church was recently extensively renovated.More than 200 funerary monuments of art historical value - mainly from the 19th century - allow an insight into the cemetery culture of that time. They are a mirror of their time and often rich in ornamentation and equipped with encoded symbols.Since 2012, the cultural network has been working together with the BUND to preserve these burial sites for posterity, to document them and to record them scientifically.
