"The notorious Spessart poacher Johann Adam Hasenstab from Rothenbuch was buried in this cemetery in June 1773. J.A.H. St. was shot in the Kropfbach valley by the princely head hunter Joh. Sator from Bischbrunn on June 3, 1773. In memory of the popular and hated arch-poacher, a sandstone cross was erected in the Kropfbach valley. As the most cunning poacher in the Spessart, he survived forced labor and exile as well as his escape back to the Spessart to continue poaching even more intensively."
